And the train keeps rolling on!
With 985 homes sold during the month of May, Louisville just realized a 14.7% improvement over the same month one year ago. That’s big!
It’s the third highest total in all the months represented in this Louisville home sales chart.
The data represents homes sold in all the MLS areas that comprise Jefferson County. For a breakdown of sales and home values for each area, visit those by accessing the drop-down menu above labeled Housing Reports.
I’ve compiled the following data so we can compare the month of May from the heyday of real estate, 2006-07 into the housing recession that began in earnest in 2009 all the way up to this past month.
- 2006: 1039
- 2007: 1076
- 2008: 832
- 2009: 671
- 2010: 954
- 2011: 664
- 2012: 859
- 2013: 985
As home prices start to increase it will be interesting to see if home sales take a hit. All the while, we see hints that the historically low mortgage interest rates may finally be moving back up.
So if you’re considering a move, there’s no time like the present.
