Since that&#8217;s probably not going to happen, you can update the room by <strong>adding throw pillows<\/strong> to your existing furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of them can simply add a splash of color. Others offer complex designs that will add a whole, new dimension to your home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Give Your Mailbox Some Holiday Cheer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what time of year it is, you can make your home look fun and welcoming by decorating your mailbox. It&#8217;s a pretty simple project that should take no more than an hour or two. Mailboxes don&#8217;t require many materials when turning them into a <strong>festive ornament<\/strong> for your house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the season, you may want to decorate your mailbox by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using wire to tie hay stalks to the stand for Halloween<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attaching a small wreath around the mailbox for Christmas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Painting it red, white, and blue to celebrate Independence Day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, you will need a sturdy mailbox that you can continue decorating for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add a Fresh Coat of Paint<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are willing to spend a little extra time on your home improvement project, consider adding a <a href=\"https:\/\/trepryor.com\/blog\/6-steps-make-house-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/trepryor.com\/blog\/6-steps-make-house-home\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fresh coat of paint<\/a> to your walls. Even if you use the same color that&#8217;s already on your walls, a new coat can <em>breathe life<\/em> into a room. After all, paint can get dingy over time just like anything else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While painting takes a few hours, it is an easy project that you can do by yourself. Follow these basic steps to get the best results:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear out any furniture that can get in the way<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lightly sand the wall&#8217;s surface<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protect edges with painter&#8217;s tape<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the appropriate brush or roller to paint the wall<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also want to make sure that you have plenty of time for the walls to <em>dry<\/em>. Don&#8217;t choose to undertake this project during a busy weekend when people are coming in and out of the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Install Landscape Lights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You probably already have some great natural, outdoor features like trees, shrubs, and flowers. You see them so often, though, that eventually, they don&#8217;t look special anymore. You can often fix that by <strong>installing a few landscape lights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the lights to emphasize the aspects of your yard that you like <em>most<\/em>. Perhaps you have a dogwood tree that turns beautiful colors in the spring or a flower bed that provides color throughout spring and summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strategically placing your landscape lights around these plants can make your yard more attractive without forcing you to do a great deal of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Make Your Home Look Fresh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You <em>don&#8217;t<\/em> have to spend a lot of time or money to make your home look fresh.
