Sell Your Home Fast: Clean!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This might sound common sense, but you would be surprised at the number of people who don\u2019t<\/em> clean their homes before trying to buy.  This is a little more involved than simply running your vacuum over the carpet. You want to get into every nook and cranny and ensure it is spotless<\/a>. The appeal of buying a new home is that it looks new<\/strong>. You don\u2019t want food grease and finger splotches from the previous homeowners around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paint with Neutral Colors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your daughter\u2019s pink walls and the hand-painted trim in the bathroom have to go. You want your buyers to be able to picture-making their own mark<\/strong> in the house. Scrub off the marks on the wall where you documented how tall your kids were growing. While it might be nostalgic and important to you<\/a>, your buyers won\u2019t want to see that. They want new<\/em> memories. They don\u2019t want to feel as if they are taking over someone else\u2019s living space.  This leads to our next tip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid the Personalization<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s understandable to have finger paintings hung on the walls with care next to your family portraits. You might want to take them down and cover the nail holes. While you\u2019re out there gardening, it might be a good idea to give the outside of the windows a good clean too. If you have a power washer, consider going all out and getting the outside of your house back to its pristine glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen to Your Realtor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Realtors do this for a living. You\u2019re paying them to sell your home fast.  It would behoove you to listen to their advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re thinking about buying a vacation home, you’d listen to your Realtor’s advice on the best areas to consider, prices, and negotiating the contract, right? So, if they say you need to bake cookies for the upcoming open house, whip out your grandma\u2019s secret recipe and get to baking<\/strong>! Be willing to part with that recipe too if it means you\u2019ll get a high bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seriously though, your Realtor will not<\/em> steer you wrong when it comes to prioritizing what needs to be done around the house in order to sell quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
