Having a small garden or backyard not only gives you additional living space, but can also add to the overall value of your home, or command a higher rent. 1. Shift Your Mindset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before you even start, you might need a bit of a mindset shift about what it is you want to create. Don\u2019t get fixated on the fact that you are creating a \u2018garden\u2019. Instead, look upon the project as an extension of your home. Look to create another living space that can be enjoyed all year round.
