Just in case you haven’t heard, the former railroad bridge (an eyesore) that connects Indiana and Kentucky has been converted into a pedestrian walking bridge. It was either that or tear it down which was even more expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bridge, built in 1895, is now a 1-mile walking and biking destination. Taking something old and making it relevant again, is something we all need more of and seems to be taking place here in Louisville, especially around the NuLu area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are the Rules of the Bridge from the Louisville Waterfront website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not Allowed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • No pets<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • No skateboards\/in-line skates<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • No motorized vehicles (scooters, mopeds, motorcycles, cars\/trucks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • HOWEVER, personal mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs ARE allowed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Allowed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Service animals<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Bikes of all kinds<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Service vehicles (motorized wheelchairs, staff\/security vehicles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Kids – fun!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Dates – romance!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      HOURS: Bridge is open 24\/7. Park hours: 6:00 am – 11:00 pm<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
