I’m still thinking about the Home & Garden Show and how great it was to learn about some of the good things Louisville area businesses are doing. I love our unique, local options!
Did you know that for every $100 you spend at a local business, $45 stays here in our community? So you’re not only supporting what makes Louisville one of a kind but also keeping jobs and conserving energy and resources.
For example, Tre and I had a fun chat with Andrew from Shine Contracting about a job they did using old blue jeans as insulation! Shine also works with Bluegrass Green Co., 804 E.Market, a store specializing in environmentally friendly building supplies, including denim insulation, and also zero VOC paint, efficient lighting, and more.
I was also happy to see Architectural Salvage at the H&G Show. This store is really one of Louisville’s best-kept secrets. If you love antique doors, mantels, and ironwork, check it out! They’re at 618 E. Broadway.
And finally, it doesn’t get any more unique and local than The Concrete Lady. If you’ve driven north on I65 you know what I mean. A friend of mine takes all her out-of-town guests here! In addition to statuary and concrete garden ornaments, they also make benches and fountains. And I love the giraffe!
