We haven’t published as many real estate market charts in recent years. More people are looking for home improvement, interior design, or general real estate advice pieces. But that doesn’t mean we can’t throw one in for fun every so often, right? So here’s the newly updated Louisville home sales chart for the period 2002 through 2021.
Louisville Home Sales Chart
2021 showed the highest number of homes sold in Jefferson County ever with 13,489. This surpasses the previous mark of 12,982 that just occurred in 2020.
Given the state of the nation, it’s interesting to see that home sales did trend higher during the past two years. Of course, the population is increasing in most parts of the country.
Some believe we are headed for a recession given our current administration’s fiscal policy. Increasing debt and printing money leading to inflation is going to make many assets immediately less valuable. So there’s a concerted effort by some investors to focus on real estate. Think REITs rather than individuals buying a new home. But there is a bit of cross-over.
